There are a total of 18 main airports in Iceland located across the country all linked nationally and internationally. Keflavík, the main international airport is approximately 30 miles outside the capital of Reykjavik itself.

Akureyi Airport is located in the north of Iceland and essentially caters for domestic flights with only one international connection to Copenhagen during the summer months. Akureyri is affectionately known as the capital of North Iceland and is an ancient city with a mild climate.
